Waiting room chair

Mini Project
I did this mini project while I had to wait at the airport due to a delay. Although the seats there are designed slightly uncomfortable on purpose, I decided to do a quick re-design and focussed on comfortability and modularity. I had several ideas for the chair but my favourite is the Marcel Breuer version with bent steel tube legs.
An airport is a space where parallel realities and clear intentions mix. Footsteps sing a non-uniform rhythm while chattering mixes which reminds me of the sound pattern that tropical birds paint in the dense green woods. The rhythmic banging of case rolls in the tile seams in tune with the accompanying feet. Just like a slow, eternal dance. To me it’s a friendly place, the gateway to the geographical limits of our world. I sit at ease with my eyes closed resting in my comfortable airport chair about to take off.
